New Device From CTI Combines GPS Tracking With Alcohol Detection
From: Primezone Newroom
GUNTER, Texas, Aug. 24, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- CTI, LLC introduces a new product, ACT GPS (Alcohol Consumption Tracking), that combines GPS tracking and alcohol detection capabilities. This new device not only detects the presence of alcohol, but allows you to see exactly where the vehicle is located and even remotely stop the vehicle. Some models even offer an accurate blood alcohol (BAC) level. These new devices are designed to help reduce the instances of drunk diving, especially among the teenage population.
According to the most recent statistics compiled by MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), there were 6,409 total driving fatalities among the 13-20 year old age group, with 36%, or 2,283 of those being alcohol related fatalities (2003 statistics). The national average of overall traffic fatalities related to alcohol was 13,099, according to 2004 NHTSA statistics. These are staggering numbers, especially since these are preventable deaths. CTI hopes to decrease these numbers by allowing people to keep a closer eye on who is driving their vehicle and under what condition.
ACT GPS combines GPS with online tracking. As soon as alcohol is detected in a vehicle, an appropriate party is notified of the exact location of the vehicle and the time the occurrence was detected. Not only are you notified of the occurrence, but the product web site will keep track of all occurrences for you. For parents, this is an invaluable tool. Never again will you need to worry if your teenage child is driving under the influence, and if they are, you can stop them in their tracks before their bad judgment turns into a tragedy.
"Our intention with ACT GPS is to inform people of alcohol abuse both before and while operating a motor vehicle. By providing people with the proper information we hope to reduce future instances of alcohol related crashes and fatalities," expresses Ray Caperton with CTI, LLC.
CTI, LLC combines over 45 years of experience in the alcohol and GPS tracking industry. CTI specializes in devices specific to the safety and security markets. Other products in the CTI family are smoke detectors, motion, and accident detection.
