Garmin's Chicago Store Grand Opening: Details, Part One

Frequent visitors to the blog will notice our spiffy new countdown calendar at the top left of this page -- at this writing, we're just nine days and change away from the Grand Opening of our marquee retail store on Chicago's Mag Mile. It'll be the first-ever store of its kind, and anyone stepping inside will be treated to a hands-on tour of our many cool products. For those of you in Chicago on Saturday, November 11 -- mark your calendars! We'll have all sorts of cool stuff going on at the store, and the Garmin Blog is the place to learn about the schedule of events. We'll be announcing all the details over the next few days, so click on the jump to learn the first tidbit of news.
Attention all runners! We're kicking off the Garmin Store Grand Opening with a "fun run" hosted by Runner's World Editor Bart Yasso and the Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA). Meet outside the store at 9:15 a.m. for a casual (easy for us to say) four-mile run. After the jog, Bart will stick around to give an entertaining talk on running. We'll be giving away commemorative t-shirts to those who attend (supplies limited) as well. So lace up those shoes, strap on that Forerunner, and we'll see you at the store! We're located at 663 Michigan Avenue -- the corner of Michigan and Erie.
Stay tuned for more Grand Opening surprises tomorrow!
