Garmin Satellite Navigation System gives 100% Irish mapping
The new Garmin PND Satellite Navigation System is now available on the Irish market through car accessory and electronic shops. The new range devices now provide premium in-car and motorbike navigation capability with automatic route calculation to any destination and have been specifically and 100 per cent mapped for Ireland. The device provides turn-by-turn voice-prompted directions along the way and a three-dimensional navigation view as well as lots of other features.
"This latest update gives those who travel around Ireland, whether for business or pleasure, a greater confidence to go to places they've never been before" says Mike Goldstein, Automotive Sales Manager Garmin (Europe). "Garmin uses Navteq for digital mapping, which is widely regarded as the industry lead for comprehensive digitized mapping and this is the only mapping company to have 100 per cent mapping for Ireland. There are also hundreds of points of interest, helping you find restaurants, hotels, petrol stations and much more, wherever you go."
Irish and Munster Scrum Half Peter Stringer is a big fan of the Garmin device and says, "I have been using a Garmin nüvi for a number of months now and not only do I never get lost, I also use it as my Bluetooth car kit. It is portable, so I use it every time I go to the UK or Europe. It is a great product."
The new mapping is suitable for Garmin's popular nüvi range of personal navigation devices (PNDs). They are slim and portable enough to put into a pocket whilst walking around town and easily plugged straight into a car so you can start to navigate immediately.
The City Navigator Europe NT version 9 which is mapped for 32 European countries contains more than 7 million km of roads and over a million points of interest such as tourist attractions, restaurants and parking information.
