Magellan chose CES 2007 to debut its latest GPS system, the CrossOverGPS. The device, which is the same footprint as the company's RoadMate 2200T, is named CrossOver, due to its capability to move from car to boat, to hiking, with the use of topographical maps as well as optional marine and lake software, including fishing hotspots data, and marine charts. The system includes voice and text prompted turn by turn directions, a 3.5-inch color touch screen display, as well as SmartDetour capabilities, and SayWhere direction technology.

It is built around an IPX-4 waterproof enclosure three months of free real-time traffic. It is priced at $549. Current RoadMate 2200T users can upgrade to CrossOverGPS capabilities for $49. The company also showcased its TrafficKit for the RoadMate 2200T and the CrossOverGPS. Priced at $99, the option enables users to identify traffic flow on their route and re route in the event of incidents or high traffic. For more information, visit www.magellangps.com.
